Well, we’re slowly shedding the cold of this past winter, but it still seems to be nearby and not wanting to let go. It’s safe to take the car cover off, as I don’t think we’ll see any more salt being put down on the roads. Hell, we just had an 85F day yesterday, but today hovered in the mid 50s before finally creeping up to a more spring-like 63F.
I took the Type R out for its first real drive of the season: a 60+ mile trek to participate in my SCCA region’s Spring “Valley Rallly” GTA rally. I don’t know if the car inspired the wife and I, or if it was more me finally listening to my wife when she wants to stop quick to pick up bonus points for items we’re looking for on the route, but we finished in… 1st place. A nice time with some good motorsports folks and friends. If you have a GTA rally in your area, I encourage you to attend it. It’s a great way to find some like-minded car folks.
